Why I Love Working With An Assistant

For the last two years, I’ve been working with an assistant to help bring a better experience to my clients, make my days go by faster and smoother, and create a way for me to help another stylist learn and grow! It’s been very challenging, difficult, and ultimately rewarding!

Seeing where someone starts out at, feeling not super confident, overwhelmed with placement, formulation, and marketing, and unsure on how to build a solid clientele, to becoming a well rounded stylist who can guess and understand my formulation before I even tell them, know when and why you should tease a highlight, and how to market for themselves is something I’m extremely grateful to be apart of.

I started my career off by assistant another stylist I really admired. She really gave me everything it of knowledge she had to help me be a successful stylist and business owner. I quickly got busy and felt the time was right to be on the opposite side of things I experienced a few years before.

Having an assistant working with me each day I’m behind the chair is like a luxury service to my clients. We both blow-dry and curl together to make each client feel like a celebrity. I double book with an assistant and at times it can get wild, but there’s always someone making sure each client is being taken care of. Plus my assistants give the best scalp massages (which is what we all love the most)!

Would I ever go back to working without one? Probably not, they’re my right hand work buddy. I really rely on them to make the experience the best it can be, and helping lift someone up to be better in form or way is the best feeling.
